Motion 11: Lengthy Waiting Times for Paediatric Extraction under GA
This Conference demands that Scottish Government address the urgent issue of lengthy waiting times for paediatric surgery by providing more funding and resources to enable children to be treated in a timely manner. [Greater Glasgow & Clyde LDC]
If memory serves Glasgow has had a problem here for a long time. In Ayrshire it has not been the case until COVID stopped everything. But it is not just children’s GAs that the PDS are struggling with. New patients are not being registered in practices and require emergency appointments, additional needs patients often have high treatment needs and the extremely anxious adults are placing huge demands on the PDS. The PDS needs to be funded better to deal with increased demand that looks likely to only be getting bigger.
