This Conference demands that the mandatory requirement to undertake audit, SEA and QI be taken out of the GDS regulations and left as a voluntary requirement for GDPs to facilitate improvements in patient care. [Greater Glasgow & Clyde LDC]

Sadly I suspect that if this becomes entirely voluntary then very few dentists would do anything formal. The argument being that I quality assess at every exam. I think the expansion of quality improvement outside of audit and SEA would be of greater benefit, this could include formal study (masters, diploma, certificate level) or could be included into the CPDA.
